SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The fight continues for residents at the West Street Village Mobile Home Community in Ludlow.

For nearly 20 years, the West Street Village Mobile Home Community has paid the same amount in rent. On Wednesday, they will rally again against a 150% rent increase. This will be the second court date for the appeal at Housing Court in Springfield.

The community’s owner has proposed raising monthly lot fees from $207 to $503. People who live there say that it’s unsustainable, especially for seniors or people with disabilities who live in the community.

Residents told 22News that despite their rent increase, the new owner has only made cosmetic updates and used these fixes to justify the lot fee increase to the Ludlow Rent Control Board.

This is unbelievable how the people that run this community can do this to people living there. That is over 300$ higher people living there maybe can not afford this .
