    Police investigating shooting turned homicide in Jamestown, NY

    ( WJET/WFXP )– Police in Jamestown, NY are asking the public for information after a shooting incident turned deadly Tuesday night.

    Police were first called to the area of Newland and Forest Ave. in Jamestown Tuesday night around 8:40 for a reported shooting and found one man suffering from a gunshot wound.

    The victim, identified as 68-year-old Doug Howie, was transported to UPMC Chautauqua for his injuries before being flown to UPMC Hamot where he later succumbed to his injuries.

    Police are now asking the public for any information as they continue to investigate.
