WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Big E starts this Friday and is a highly anticipated event that brings thousands of people together each year. But, with large crowds and busy activities, police say it’s important for parents to take extra precautions to keep their children safe.

The Big E hosts 13 new food vendors for 2024 fair

According to the West Springfield Police Department Facebook post , you should write your phone number on your child’s wrist and cover it with a liquid band-aid before heading to the fair. Police also advise taking a picture of them to show their clothing and hairstyle the day of the event.

The fair does have a designated “Lost People” tent across from the firehouse to help reunite families in case of separation.
