CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – St. Rose de Lima church honored the victims and fallen heroes of September 11th by hosting a mass of remembrance.

This is the 17th annual mass held in Chicopee. Each year the Hampden Center Deanery selects a parish in Chicopee to host. This year’s mass featured a reading led by Chicopee Fire Captain Katie Collins-Kalbaugh, who is also a member of the parish.

Other first responders also joined in on Wednesday’s mass, with some leading a procession at the start of the service.
