First investigate why their properties are left in complete disarray. Are they sickly, elderly or just plan lazy . If they are lazy cite them, fine them and then opt to shame them by posting on social media . If the have health issues and cant keep up with the mess then the city needs to step in .

I had to let go of my dogs due to people flying down the street I would get nervous everytime I would have to cross the street to walk them. You can’t give citations to people in this area when right around the corner from Putnam street there was a house on Denver street that made headlines from being in such poor condition. Stop trying to put a band aid on deep tissue wound. The potholes that keep getting filled in and not properly addressed causing undercarriage damage to vehicles. Do you know how many vehicles I seen in front of my house break down due to these potholes. Now all a sudden there’s a new field built down the street you want to start enforcing rules? I kid you not the grass next to 8 Putnam st had been cut maybe once or twice a year since living there and that is taken care of by the city so stop trying to enforce something that the city isn’t even doing. I call that a double standard.Springfield needs to do better.
