    Ludlow police arrested three, including 15-year-old, in connection with stolen vehicle

    LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) – The Ludlow Police Department has arrested and charged three individuals, including a minor, in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle recovered on Center Street.

    According to Ludlow Police, on Wednesday, September 19, around 8 p.m., officers identified a stolen vehicle parked at 463 Center Street.

    The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Joshua MacDonald of Pelham, remained in the vehicle, while two passengers left on foot. MacDonald was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,200 and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The two other suspects, 22-year-old Jonathan Carpenter of Gardner and a 15-year-old minor from Belchertown were also arrested shortly after.

    Carpenter was charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,200 and Disorderly Conduct. The minor faces similar charges, including Possession of a Class E Substance.

    Following the discovery of the vehicle, additional officers set up a perimeter around the Water’s Edge neighborhood. The two suspects who left on foot were quickly detained, and a Ludlow Police K-9 unit was deployed to ensure the area was free of any dangerous items discarded by the suspects.

    MacDonald and Carpenter were arraigned on Thursday at Palmer District Court, while the minor was released to a guardian and will face charges in Hampden County Juvenile Court at a later date.
