West Springfield H.S. Athletic Hall of Fame inductees named

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)–The Terrier Hall of Fame Committee has announced the West Springfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductees Class of 2024.

The student-athletes, teams, coaches, and special contributors are inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame on the grounds of exceptional athletics contributions to West Springfield High School.

The inductees are:

  Gary Gasperack
  Dan Jonah
  Kelly Hutcheons
  Nicole Longey
  Emily Taylor
• Coaches:
  Brenda Marti
  Edgar “Pop” Fielding
  Ed Mason
• Teams:
  1956 Football
  1980 Gymnastics
  1980 Softball
• Special Contributors:
  Al Howard
  Billy May
  Eastern States Exposition and Coliseum Building – Home of Hockey

“So many great athletes, coaches, teams, and special contributors are worthy of this honor, and the deep history of athletics at the High School is something to behold,” said Chairman Brian Griffin. “The committee was great again this year to take the time to research those individuals or teams that might otherwise not be at the forefront of the mind. They take this part of their stewardship very seriously and I commend them again as I do each year.”

The induction ceremony will be held on Friday, November 15 at the Storrowton Carriage House beginning at 6 pm. Tickets for the event are $35 per person and available online via Eventbrite.com by searching “West Springfield Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony,” or by check made out to the “Town of West Springfield”, 26 Central Street, Suite 16, West Springfield, MA 01089.
