Springfield Thunderbird’s preseason games begin

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield Thunderbirds will play their first preseason game at the MassMutual Center Wednesday night.

The T-Birds will take on their longtime rivals, the Hartford Wolf Pack with the puck dropping at 7:05 p.m. There are a couple of things to know if you’re heading to the game.

Bruce Landon Way remains closed due to the construction of the new parking garage so it’s recommended fans enter through the main street entrance, which is at the corner of Bruce Landon Way.

The State Street entrance can be used starting at 6:05 p.m., but only if you already have tickets in hand. The main box office doors on Bruce Landon Way will be accessible via Dwight Street but due to the construction, the pedestrian walkway does not extend beyond the main box office toward Main Street.
