SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A 68-year-old man has been arraigned for a murder on Hancock Street last week.

Crews put out fire at El Fogón de Yuyu Restaurant in Springfield

Springfield Police spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News, Erving Mcleod of Springfield pleaded not guilty in connection to a deadly shooting early Wednesday morning on Hancock Street.

Police were sent to the 200 block of Hancock Street around 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday after a ShotSpotter activation. When officers arrived, found an adult man with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he died due to his injuries. Mcleod was arrested on Friday and had an outstanding warrant in the Eastern Hampshire District Court.

The identity of the victim has not been released. He’s described only as an adult man.

Mcleod is currently being held without the right to bail and is due back in court for a pretrial hearing next month.
