CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – 22News is saying goodbye to one of our colleagues, Melissa Torres, as she prepares to take the next step in her journalism career.

After three memorable years as a reporter with 22News, Melissa will be moving up within our parent company, Nexstar Media Group, to join a station out west.

Reflecting on her time in western Massachusetts, Melissa shared her heartfelt gratitude:

I’m filled with a multitude of emotions as I close this chapter in my career. It’s truly been such a dream to tell the stories of the incredible and vibrant communities here in western Massachusetts. Representation matters, and I’m grateful to have been a role model for others who look like me, come from a similar background as me, or speak the same language as me. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes every morning, every afternoon, and every night. It’s been truly such a gift to start my journey here at the station that I like to call home. It has been a journey filled with learning, growth, and unforgettable memories. And although I’m leaving 22News, I promise to always work for you!

    Melissa Torres

Melissa’s presence at 22News will be missed, as she leaves a lasting impact on the station, the community, and the state she’s covered with passion and dedication.
