Garage fire disrupts power on Washington Ave in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Crews worked to put out a garage fire on Washington Avenue in Holyoke Wednesday night.

According to the Holyoke Fire Department, a 911 call was received at around 7:04 p.m. for a report of a garage fire at 4 Washington Ave. Upon arrival, the fire was located in a detached garage in the back of the house. In addition, two neighboring garages were also starting to catch on fire.

The fires were quickly put out and no injuries were reported as of Wednesday night. Power lines were impacted and have since been restored to customers.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Holyoke FIU and The MSP Fire Marshall’s office.
