MassDOT has issued a travel advisory telling travelers to expect more vehicles on the road. They encourage travelers to plan ahead before getting on the road. Increased traffic volume is expected to begin Friday and continue through the weekend.

It is recommended to make trips at off-peak hours, allow for extra time, utilize maps and GPS to plan ahead, and consider public transportation to reach destinations.

This weekend also brings several fairs and festivals to the area, including the Granville Harvest Fair, Greenfield Vintage Days, the Paradise City Arts Festival, Celebrate East Longmeadow, and the Fashion Fiber Reuse Festival in Turners Falls.
