WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A woman who allegedly pointed a gun at another driver during a road rage incident on Route 5 in West Springfield was arrested.

Arson suspect sought in South Hadley

According to the West Springfield Police Department, at around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, a 911 caller stated that a driver, who was operating recklessly, pointed a gun at them on Route 5 in the area of the Memorial Bridge.

While talking with dispatch, the caller who had a 3-year-old child in the car, described the vehicle including the plate number and what the driver looked like as they both continued traveling in the same direction on Route 5.

An officer located the vehicle in the area of the Elm Street rotary and conducted a traffic stop at the 200 block of Westfield Street. The driver, identified as Amber Dearborn-Clark of Chicopee, allegedly refused to comply with officers, attempting to close windows and reached around the center console.

With the assistance of plain-clothed detectives, she was removed from the vehicle. Police say that they found an unloaded and holstered semi-auto P22 Walther pistol an empty magazine inside and on top of the rear seat, and a case for the firearm with a loaded 10-round magazine inside.

Dearborn-Clark is charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon (firearm).
