NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The annual Pulaski Day Parade in Northampton was held Monday.

Day two of the Paradise City Arts Festival in Northampton

October is Polish Heritage Month which is a time for the community to come together and celebrate their Polish history, and culture and show their city pride. The Polish Heritage Committee kicked off the day with a memorial mass at St. Valentine’s Polish National Church.

The parade began right after bringing together Polish groups in costumes, marching bands, local veteran organizations, and city officials. They walked through downtown Northampton and ended at Pulaski Park.

Robert Gibowicz told 22News that it’s important to honor Polish immigrants and all that they have done in this country, “we do not want to forget all of the hard work and their contributions that they have made to this great country.”

At Pulaski Park, there was another program that was held to celebrate the father of the American Cavalry, the late General Casimir Pulaski. Organizers say they will continue to celebrate Polish Heritage Month every year.
