    57 new officers join Massachusetts police forces

    CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A total of 57 police officers graduated from the Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) Holyoke Police Academy’s 3rd Recruit Officer Class (ROC) on Thursday in Northampton.

    These graduates have completed over 20 weeks of intensive, standardized training in all aspects of law enforcement and are now poised to serve as full-time officers representing 27 police agencies across Massachusetts.

    In a commencement ceremony held at the Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton members of the 3rd ROC took an oath and received their badges for service. The new officers represent the following police departments and agencies:

    • Franklin County Sheriff’s
    • Hadley
    • Hampden County Sheriff’s
    • Holyoke
    • Lenox
    • Ludlow
    • MA College of Liberal Arts
    • MA Environmental Police
    • Medfield
    • Northampton
    • Northbridge
    • Pittsfield
    • Rutland
    • Sheffield
    • Smith College
    • Southwick
    • University of Massachusetts at Amherst
    • Ware
    • Westfield
    • Williamstown

    “The latest graduating class from the MPTC embody our dedication to cultivating the future leaders of public safety. These officers are not only ready to protect and serve their communities, but also advance public safety across the state.” said MPTC Interim Executive Director Jeff W. Farnsworth “By applying the skills, knowledge, and principles instilled throughout their training, they are prepared to make a significant impact on their communities. We wish them a safe and fulfilling future, confident that the world-class training they have received will guide them in their mission to uphold the highest standards of modern policing.”

    They join over 130 officers who have graduated from MPTC-operated academies in training year 2024-2025.
