Driver arrested after crashing into Westover Air Force Base gate following chase

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – One person was arrested on Friday following a high-speed motor vehicle chase throughout Chicopee.

According to the Chicopee Police Department, around 10:00 p.m. officers were sent to a vehicle crashing through one of the side gates at Westover Air Force Base. Multiple cruisers sustained damage, but there were no injuries to the officers or the driver of the vehicle.

The security of the base was not jeopardized during this incident.

Pending charges have not been released at this time. 22News will update this story as soon as more information becomes available.
