SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Presidential election is coming up quickly and some Americans have already made their way to the polls to put in their votes.

How to cope with election anxiety

In-person early voting gives voters more time to vote and a chance to avoid the crowds on election day. Pamela Florian from Springfield told 22News that it is important for everyone to have a voice in this election.

“It’s an important thing because women especially us have not always had the right to vote. This is an important thing to remember in our history,” said Florian. “I also think everybody’s voice should be counted so that means every age, ethnicity, and background as this is a very tumultuous time.”

When it comes to voting in the election, you may want to keep a few things in mind. You may be asked to show identification if you are voting for the first time in Massachusetts in a federal election. Poll workers may ask for it if you are an inactive voter, casting a provisional or challenged ballot, or if they have a practical and legal reason to ask for identification.

If you have not put in your vote yet, you can still vote early in person through November 1st and Election Day is on November 5th.

“It is important to know what your values are first, and after that, you need to match your values with the things that are happening in the country and the state,” said Vicky Perez, a Springfield voter.

If you prefer to vote in person, each community will have at least one early voting location.
Springfield City Hall is one of the early voting locations. Residents can also go to their City Hall in Chicopee, Northampton, and Deerfield Town Hall.

You can find a full list of early voting stations on the Massachusetts website .
