    NWS confirms EF-2 tornado Tuesday in St. Joseph County

    The National Weather Service confirmed the presence of an EF-2 tornado in St. Joseph County earlier this week.

    The tornado passed through the northwest side of the county Tuesday morning just after 8 a.m., and believed to have ended right over Three Rivers.

    The National Weather Service Northern Indiana states the EF2 tornado was on the ground for 14 minutes from 8:19 to 8:33 A.M.. Path length was 8.4 miles, maximum width was 700 yards, and it was on the ground from Howardsville, through Marcellus, and lifting around the Three Rivers area. Tornado warnings were in effect at the time.
