Over 500 Illinois workers say promised raises have not arrived
Some Illinois workers have said they’re not getting the raise they were promised. Teamsters Local 916 said the Illinois Department of Central Management Services is not paying negotiated wage increases to more than 500 unionized workers.

July 24, 2024 – Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has proclaimed Richard James Oglesby Day is July 25, 2024, in the State of Illinois. This proclamation is to recognize Governor Oglesby’s contribution to the state and to the country on the 200th anniversary of his birth. The proclamation was requested by the Gov. Oglesby Mansion Board of Directors.
Cicero Man Arrested Near Utica on Heroin/Fentanyl Charges
A suburban man was arrested Thursday by agents from the TRI-county Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team, or TRIDENT. Twenty-nine-year-old Alexander Bryant of Cicero was taken into custody north of Utica. Agents say he'd delivered a mixture of heroin and fentanyl to undercover agents multiple times. TRIDENT says that on one occasion Bryant delivered 48 bags containing 31 grams of the drug mixture. On Thursday, he allegedly delivered agents 56 bags containing 35 grams of the mixture.
