    Heat wave begins in NEPA. Heat advisory in place for region.

    Temperatures in Northeast Pa. are expected to be in the 90's for this week. The National Weather Service at Binghamton has issued a heat advisory:

    .HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TUESDAY TO 8 PM EDT THURSDAY...

    * WHAT...Heat index values up to 100 expected.

    * WHERE...Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Susquehanna, and Wyoming Counties.

    * WHEN...From noon Tuesday to 8 PM EDT Thursday.

    * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
