CHEYENNE – Make-A-Wish Wyoming hosted its first Serving Up Wishes event in Cheyenne on April 20, bringing together communities and supporters to help grant life-changing wishes for children battling critical illnesses.

The inaugural event would not have been possible without the partnership with 1WYO and witnessed an unprecedented level of enthusiasm and support, with notable participation from the University of Wyoming athletics coaches and athletes.

To kick off the evening, trios of athletes from Wyoming football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball and wrestling each competed in a talent contest to raise the most money for a child waiting for their wish to be granted.

In addition, Make-A-Wish Wyoming recognized the community partners of the year, Chet and Michelle Halvorson, and the volunteer of the year, Chassity Wiederspahn.

Be sure to save the date for next year’s Serving Up Wishes, scheduled to take place on April 12, 2025. For more information about Make-A-Wish Wyoming and how to support its mission, visit wish.org/wyoming .
