Two cops enjoy a real-life "Hot Fuzz" moment — after bundling a swan into a kit bag outside a police station.

The bird was spotted struggling in the parking lot outside Ladywood Police Station in Birmingham.

Wildlife Crime Officer PC Ian Butler quickly arrived at the scene and calmed the swan down.

It is thought the bird confused the wet car park for a lake following heavy rain on Monday (23/9).

The two carefully placed the bird into a kit bag to transport it safely to Edgbaston Reservoir, where it was released into the wild.

The scene mirrors the 2007 police comedy "Hot Fuzz", where stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost capture a runaway swan.

PC Butler said: “I’ve been on the receiving end of plenty of 'Hot Fuzz' jokes since then, but thankfully, it was just the one swan.”

The swan is now safe and sound in its new home, and our officers continue to keep their eyes on both crime and wildlife across the region.
