Tragedy struck as four members of the acclaimed gospel group The Nelons died in a devastating plane crash. The ensemble was en route to a performance when their plane tragically went down, resulting in the death of seven people.

Among them were Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, their daughter Amber, and her husband Nathan Kistler. The pilot Larry Haynie, his wife Melissa, and the family's assistant Melodi Hodges also lost their lives in the accident.

They were on their way to the Gaither Homecoming Cruise in Alaska when the aircraft crashed in Wyoming. The local sheriff's department has confirmed there were no survivors from the incident.

Autumn Nelon Streetman, another member of The Nelons who wasn't on the flight, released an emotional statement: "As many of you have heard by now, my father and mother, Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, along with my sister, Amber, and brother-in-law, Nathan, as well as our dear friends Melodi Hodges, Larry, and Melissa Haynie, were involved in a tragic plane crash on Friday," reports the Mirror US .

She added her thanks and asked for continued prayers: "Thank you for the prayers that have been extended already to me, my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be-born baby boy, as well as Jason's parents, Dan and Linda Clark. We appreciate your continued prayers, love, and support as we navigate the coming days."

Following the crash, the plane caught fire, sparking a wildfire that was swiftly tackled by emergency services and fire crews.
