Mountain View’s Carson Eardley Signed for Football at Chadron State
Mountain View senior Carson Eardley has decided to play football at Chadron State College in Nebraska. Eardley was a two-time all-state and all-conference selection for the Buffalos. Carson was the 2A Defensive Player of the Year during his senior season. He helped Mountain View to a 10-1 overall record and a semifinal appearance in the 2A playoffs. The Buffalos won the 2A West Conference regular season championship with a 6-0 league record.
The Spring Rodeo Season is Underway!
The spring season for high school rodeo began earlier this month after a handful of events in the fall. Laramie played host to the first spring rodeo and the regular season lasts until the end of May. The state finals this year will be in Rock Springs in June and the National Finals will also be in Rock Springs this July. Here are the top 2 finishers in each event from the Laramie Rodeo.

Teagan Becker of Kelly Walsh Signs with UW for Track
Kelly Walsh track and field athlete Teagan Becker has been a consistent performer in the throwing events. She is the defending 4A Indoor State Champion in the shot-put with a toss of 42-7.5 and took 4th as a junior at the State Indoor Meet going 41-2.25. Those efforts earned her All-State status for the last 2 seasons and she has accepted an offer to compete for the University of Wyoming in the fall.
New WyoPreps Soccer Rankings Have Plenty of Movement
A new No. 1 in 4A girls’ soccer, no ties, and at least one change in each of the four divisions highlights the fourth WyoPreps Coaches and Media Soccer Polls. Defending 4A champion Kelly Walsh moved back to the top of the girls’ poll. That class also had two teams re-enter the rankings. After both the girls’ and boys’ polls in 3A featured a tie two weeks ago, those were broken in this one.
Nothing Different in the New WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Poll
The first softball rankings in two weeks featured no changes. The new WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Poll had the same top five teams as the third poll on March 27, 2024. Cheyenne East solidified itself at the top of the rankings, and the other four teams received a majority of the votes for their spot.
Saratoga’s Finn Rolseth Chooses Rocky Mountain College for Basketball
Saratoga senior Finn Rolseth will further his basketball career after recently signing with Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT. Rolseth was a two-time all-conference and all-state selection. He helped Saratoga to a runner-up finish in 2024 and a third-place finish in 2023. The Panthers were 42-6 in his two seasons with the team.
WyoPreps Legion Baseball Scoreboard: April 10-14, 2024
It is Week 2 of the Wyoming Legion Baseball season for 2024. After just two games were played last week, a few more teams are scheduled to make their season debut this week. Two teams from the Gillette program, the Riders and Rustlers, plus two from Cheyenne, the Sixers and Hawks, will play their first games of the year. Powell also returns to action on Sunday.
PhotoFest: Rock Springs Track Meet
The annual Ted Schroeder "Meet of Hope" track and field event was held on Friday in Rock Springs and there were some superlative individual performances. Christopher Wilson of Green River, who is one of the finest track athletes in the state won 4 events and that's not easy to do. On the girls' side, Jaylee Antonino of Mountain View took the top of the podium in 3 events.

Wyoming High School Outdoor Track Scoreboard: April 9-13, 2024
The outdoor track and field season for Wyoming High School teams reaches Week 5 in 2024. It is another busy week with nine track meets in the state. They range from Lander to Burns, Upton to Rawlins, Casper to Big Piney, Dayton to Powell and Laramie. A handful of teams are also competing out of the state. Friday will be the busiest day of action.
Wyoming High School Softball Scoreboard: April 9-13, 2024
Prep softball in Wyoming rolls into Week 5 of the 2024 season. It’s another week full of key conference games that are part of doubleheaders. New rankings will be released on Wednesday. The top three teams are slated to square off in Gillette this weekend. A Cheyenne East sweep at home back in Week 2 put the Thunderbirds atop the poll. Now they go on the road. Fourth-ranked Cody is at home this weekend against the two Casper schools, while the two Sweetwater County schools square off on Thursday.
Riverton’s Ty Sheets Picks Chadron St. for Football
Riverton's Ty Sheets competes in 3 sports for the Wolverines but it's football that he is going to stick with as he committed to the Chadron State College program in Nebraska. Sheets was a popular wide receiving target for Riverton in 2023 with 60 grabs for 628 yards and 3 touchdowns. He had a 12-reception, 124-yard game vs. Powell this season and also was a factor for the Wolverine defense. Sheets rang up 21 tackles for the year along with a couple of interceptions.
Wyoming High School Boys Soccer Scoreboard: April 9-13, 2024
Week 5 of the prep boys’ soccer season in Wyoming is here. As the schedule surges toward the middle of April, it features mainly league games around the state. There is one non-conference match in Class 3A. Ranked teams square off in only three games, but new rankings will be released on Wednesday. Teams are playing over five days this week.
PhotoFest: Worland Track Meet
Worland's D&D Invitational Track Meet drew plenty of teams from the Big Horn Basin and beyond on Thursday and the competition was fierce. Powell took first in the boy's team standings with 162.5 with Worland 2nd at 121, Thermopolis 3rd with 107, Lovell had 82 and Burlington had 76. Powell's Caden Nelson won two events and so did Worland's Noah Mitchell.
