Jackson’s Maddie Ryan: WyoPreps Athlete of the Year for Girls’ Alpine Skiing 2023-24
The first winner of the WyoPreps Athlete of the Year honor for Girls’ Alpine Skiing, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming and Wyld Gear, was Jackson Hole High School’s Maddie Ryan. She received the award after a terrific junior year during the 2023-24 high school season. Maddie's efforts helped Jackson win another alpine skiing state championship. It was their 15th in a row and 44th in school history.
PhotoFest: Wyoming Shrine Bowl Media Day
One of the highlights of Shrine Bowl Week in Casper is the picture/media day. The players from the South and North teams pose for photos and it's a chance for members of the Shrine Club to get in there too. Memories are made on days like this and more memories are coming as the 51st annual Shrine Bowl All-Star football game kicks off at 2 pm at Natrona County High School.
Gillette’s Avery Gray Repeats as Gatorade Wyoming Softball Player of the Year
Campbell County High School’s Avery Gray has been named the Gatorade Wyoming Softball Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. This award is for the 2024 season. Gray is the only recipient of this honor from CCHS in Gillette. The Gatorade Company released the award information on Friday.

Cheyenne’s Reisdorfer Receives Athlete of the Week Honor 6-6-24 [VIDEO]
The best performance a pitcher can have on the baseball mound led to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming WyoPreps Athlete of the Week award. The recipient was Cheyenne Sixers hurler Ethan Reisdorfer. He tossed a perfect game last week at a tournament in South Dakota. His effort came during the week from May 28 through June 2, 2024.

Wyoming Coaches Association Releases 2024 Spring Coach of the Year Honors
The Coach of the Year awards have been decided by the Wyoming Coaches Association for the 2024 Spring Sports Season. These winners were selected by their fellow WCA coaches. They are slated to be honored in a ceremony at Natrona County High School’s Auditorium at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
Gillette’s Antonio Avila: WyoPreps Athlete of the Year for Boys Wrestling 2023-24 [VIDEO]
The first recipient of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming WyoPreps Athlete of the Year Award for boys wrestling is Antonio Avila from Thunder Basin High School. The senior earns the honor after winning a state championship for a fourth straight year and leading the Bolts to the Class 4A team title.
Sophie Berglund of Buffalo Furthers Her Track Career at ORU
Buffalo’s Sophie Berglund has signed to compete in track and field at Oral Roberts University. Berglund is a four-time state qualifier at the outdoor state track championships and a three-time state qualifier at the indoor track state championships. She was a jumper and vaulter in her prep career for the Bison.
Kylie Price of Kemmerer Signs to Swim at Jamestown
Kylie Price from Kemmerer High School will further her swimming career after committing to the University of Jamestown in North Dakota. Price was a two-time all-state swimmer for the Rangers. She was a four-year letter winner and swam at the Class 3A state championships all four years of her prep career. That included participating in four events in three of her four years.

Shrine Bowl North Practice-Wednesday
The Shrine Bowl football practices rolled along on Wednesday in Casper with the 51st annual All-Star game set for Saturday at 2pm at Natrona County High School. The North team was at Kelly Walsh working out and their quarterbacks will be Dom Berrettini from Sheridan and Darrick Devries from Riverton. Berrettini had a phenomenal year as the Broncs won yet another 4A State Championship. The All-Stater threw for 1521 yards with 18 touchdown passes and threw just 3 interceptions. He also ran the ball for over 500 yards and 15 scores.
Cheyenne Sixers Manager Ty Lain Takes College Coaching Job
The four-time defending AA state champion Cheyenne Sixers will be looking for a new manager after the 2024 season. In the middle of his ninth season, Ty Lain stepped down to take the recruiting coordinator and assistant coaching position at Garden City Community College in Kansas. He starts his new job on Monday, June 10, 2024, and leaves the Post 6 program immediately.

Wyoming Shrine Bowl South Practice-Tuesday
The Shrine Bowl South football team has been working hard at Natrona County High School to begin the week of practices heading up to Saturday's annual All-Star game. The South certainly has some size and strength thanks to Tegen Seeds of Douglas who will be heading to the University of Wyoming for football as a preferred walk on. This past season, Seeds was an All-State offensive lineman in 3A and an All-State defensive lineman the year before that. He's also swept the 3A throwing events at the State Track Meet with a winning toss of 162-10 in the discus and 57-1.25 in the shot-put. Seeds displayed exponential progress in each event compared to his junior year.
Shrine Bowl North Practice-Tuesday
The Shrine Bowl football teams have assembled in Casper for the annual All-Star game that will be Saturday at 2pm in Casper. The North team worked out on Tuesday morning with pleasant weather conditions and this team has a lot of ability. The squad will get some big contributions from players from the smaller school like Hulett's Christian Reilly. He comes from the 6-man ranks but is a solid all around athlete as he was named All-State in football plus Reilly is a 2-time 1A State Champion wrestler at 285 pounds. He also has finished in the top 6 in the shot and discus at the 1A State Track Meet for the last 2 years running. He';ll be attending Chadron State in the fall.
2024 All-Star Soccer Games Canceled by the Wyoming Coaches Association
The Wyoming Coaches Association announced the cancellation of the 2024 all-star soccer games due to an unforeseen shortage of available coaches. This year’s event was originally scheduled from June 20-22, 2024, at Thunder Basin High School in Gillette. The announcement was released by WCA Soccer Rep Mike Sauers on Monday. He called it a regrettable turn of events.
Wyoming Players React After All-Star Football Game Loss to Nebraska [VIDEO]
Last Friday night, the outcome was not what Wyoming wanted in their annual 6-man all-star football game against Nebraska. The boys from the Cornhusker State won 42-14. They scored on their first three possessions and built a 22-0 lead that proved too much to overcome for Wyoming. After the game, WyoPreps spoke with running back-linebacker Wyatt Trembly from Dubois, quarterback Jordan Michaels of Burlington, and Encampment receiver-lineman Kaben Pickett after the game.
