Final Wyoming High School Softball Standings 2024
WEST: (Overall Record, followed by Conference Record) EAST: (Overall Record, followed by Conference Record) Changes Are Coming to Wyoming High School Softball Next Year. The sport of high school softball is expanding in the 2025 season. Torrington, Jackson, and Sheridan will field varsity teams next spring. The conferences are changing to North-South, and a regional qualifying tournament will be added the week before the state tournament. WyoPreps spoke with WHSAA Commissioner Trevor Wilson about the softball changes as part of a bigger discussion of overall changes for the 2024-25 high school sports year. Taliah Morris of Cheyenne East Has State Track Meet to Remember
Taliah Morris of Cheyenne East ended her prep career in track and field on a very high note at the State Meet in Casper over the weekend. It started on Thursday as she won the 4A Long Jump and set an overall record in the process at 20-8.50. Morris has won the 4A Long Jump four years in a row and only a handful of athletes have won a particular event 4 times in their career.

PhotoFest! Girls State Track Day #3
The Girls State Track and Field Meet concluded on Saturday in Casper with pleasant weather conditions with more state and overall records being set. Addie Pendergast of Sheridan set two overall records with a time of 54.40 in the 400 Meters and 42.69 in the 300 hurdles. Taliah Morris of Cheyenne East set yet another overall mark on Saturday, this time in the 200 Meters with a time of 23.45.
PhotoFest! State Track Day #2
The State High School Track and Field Meet rolled along in Casper on Friday with some breezy conditions but that didn't stop the athletes from breaking more state records. On the girls' side, Taliah Morris of Cheyenne East is having quite a meet. On Thursday, she set the overall state record in the long jump, and on Friday, she set the overall in the 100-meter dash in the preliminary round in 11.68. That record stood since 1998, set by Arnetta Simpson of Cheyenne Central. Morris also set the overall record in the 200-meter dash in the prelims in 23.70. She also ran the anchor leg on the east 4x100 relay team that placed 2nd.

Wyoming High School Softball State Tournament Day 1 Photofest!
The 2024 Wyoming High School Softball State Championships began on Thursday with four first-round games. The East Conference swept the West Conference for the fourth straight year. Campbell County, Thunder Basin, Cheyenne East, and Laramie advanced in the winner's bracket. Green River, Natrona County, Rock Springs, and Cody fell into the loser's bracket.
PhotoFest! State Track Day #1
The State Track and Field Meet kicked off on Thursday in Casper with sunny skies and a bit of wind but all in all, not a bad day. There were more than a few records set on day #1 and in the 4A Girls Long Jump, Taliah Morris of Cheyenne East set the 4A and overall state record with a leap of 20-8.50. She actually broke the existing record twice on Thursday but that effort of 20-8.50 was tremendous. Also in the long jump, Gavin Stafford of Big Horn set the 2A record by going 23-00.75. Lander's Adelyn Anderson set the 3A record in the discus with a toss of 44-7.25.

Antonino and Newman Earn WyoPreps Athlete of the Week Awards 5-15-24 [VIDEO]
The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming WyoPreps Athlete of the Week honors for May 15, 2024, went to Mountain View senior Jaylee Antonino and Lovell sophomore Matthew Newman. These two track athletes excelled at last weekend’s 3A West Regional track meet in Mountain View. Their efforts came during the week from May 6 through May 12, 2024.
Rodeo Tour Visits Gillette
The high school rodeo season is moving along quickly with a big event over the weekend in Gillette. This week, the circuit will be in Casper on Friday and Saturday and then in Buffalo the weekend after that. The contestants gearing up for the State Finals later in June in Rock Springs plus the National Finals in Rock Springs come July. Here are the top 2 placers in each performance in Gillette, plus the current event leaders.
Wyoming High School State Track Championships Preview 2024
The 2024 all-class Wyoming High School State Track Championships are Thursday through Saturday in Casper. Girls’ and boys’ teams from around the state will compete at Harry Geldien Stadium located at Kelly Walsh High School. The defending girls’ team champions are Saratoga, Big Piney, Powell, and Cheyenne Central. In the boys’ outdoor track, Burlington, Big Horn, Powell, and Natrona County won the four classes last year.

The 1A East Regional Track Meet in Sundance featured more than a few outstanding individual performances and those athletes will be at it again this week in Casper for the State Meet that begins on Thursday at Kelly Walsh. In the girl's team standings in the 1A East Regional. Upton took the podium with 193 points, Southeast 2nd with 177 and Hulett was 3rd with 81. For the boys, Upton placed first with 187 points, Kaycee took 2nd with 118 and Southeast was in the 3 spot with 88. Here's the list of the top 2 placers in each event.

The 2A East Regional Track Meet was in Sundance this year and there were plenty of athletes looking to solidify their spots for the State Meet which begins on Thursday in Casper. In the boy's team standings. Big Horn was first with 182 points, Lingle-Fort Laramie was 2nd with 109 and Lusk was in the 3 slot with 89. On the girl's side, Big Horn and Lingle-Fort Laramie tied for first with 109 points and Lusk was 3rd with 99. Below is the list of the top 2 finishers in each event.
Cody and Jackson Top the Final WyoPreps Soccer Rankings
Two schools top the last rankings of the 2024 season entering the state tournament. Cody leads the final WyoPreps Coaches and Media Soccer Polls in Class 3A and Jackson in Class 4A. The Fillies regained the top spot in the girls’ poll, while the Broncs surged to first for the first time this year. The Jackson girls grabbed the No. 1 spot back, and their boys maintained their top spot.
Camels Stay Atop the Final WyoPreps Softball Poll of 2024
The final softball rankings changed one team for the third straight week. Campbell County kept the top spot in the latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Poll, which means the Camels carry the favorite role into the state tournament. One of the two Gillette high schools has won the softball state championship in the first three years.
2024 Wyoming High School Softball State Championships Scoreboard
The state championships for the fourth year of Wyoming High School softball are Thursday through Saturday in Gillette. The 2024 season finishes with an eight-team, double-elimination state tournament at the Energy Capital Sports Complex. Fields No. 1 and No. 2, the two closest to the parking lots at the complex, will be used to play games. These fields face southeast and southwest in Gillette. Thunder Basin is the two-time defending state champs.
Big Horn’s Bleu Butler Shines in Gillette Rodeo
We are reminded of Wyoming's world champion bareback rider, and world-class rodeo rock & roller, Chris LeDoux each Father's Day weekend at Chris LeDoux Days in Kaycee but this year memories were made on Mother's Day. Big Horn High School freshman all-around cowgirl Bleu Butler took home the breakaway roping champion buckle from a Wyoming High School Rodeo Association event in Gillette on Sunday. It's her first high school rodeo victory. Butler stacked a total of nineteen points breakaway roping with first and second-place finishes over the weekend in addition to another nine points tying goats. Bleu is Chris and Peggy LeDoux's granddaughter. Chris wanted to be remembered most as a good husband and family man so he would unquestionably be overjoyed with Bleu's success.
Wyoming High School Spring Golf Scoreboard: May 14-17, 2024
The last week of the Wyoming High School Spring Golf season is here. Only two events are left before the summer break, and the Fall season picks up in mid-August. There is a limited field in Jackson, followed by a 4A finale in Sheridan. The 2A Spring Championship was last Thursday and Friday. Those teams have finished their spring season. This is Week 8.

Student-athletes in soccer, track, and golf have been chosen as the finalists for the WyoPreps Athlete of the Week honors, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming.
