Brick Store Museum Features Local Trans Artist
(Kennebunk, ME) Cookie Davis, a beloved local artist and laborer, is featured in the Brick Store Museum‘s current exhibition, “Bold Visions: The Folk Art of Collyer Bowen and Cookie Davis.” Born Coleman Davis before her transition to Dominique London in later life – nicknamed “Cookie” by friends and neighbors – she was well-known in the Kennebunks, and particularly in Cape Porpoise.

OXFORD, Maine — A woman from Norway died after a crash on Route 26 in Oxford. Police say Trudy Giroux, 65, was leaving the parking lot of the Irving gas station just before 9 a.m. to head north on Route 26 when she pulled into the path of a pickup truck headed south.

Maine Man Who Killed His Girlfriend in 2022 Sentenced
A Maine man will spend several decades in prison for the murder of his girlfriend in Lewiston in 2022. Eddie Massie, 40, from Lewiston was charged with murder for the death of his girlfriend, Lacresha Howard, 24, also of Lewiston. He was sentenced this week to 30 years in prison.
Mapleton Veteran Receives Funds from Farming Grant
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Money is coming to an Aroostook County man to help him launch a farm. Philip Elliot from Mapleton will be receiving 1000 dollars from the Coalition Fellowship Fund. This fund awards grants to veterans who want to be farmers, so they can purchase supplies that will aid them in the launch of their business. Through a joint initiative, Tractor Supply Company and the Farmer Veteran Coalition have provided more than $550,000 dollars in funding over the last 6 years, assisting more than 350 veterans nationwide. Elliot served in the army branch of the military. He was selected through an application process and chosen by a team of seasoned agricultural industry professionals. Two factors were taken into consideration during the process, how the funding will grow the business and how the business will support the community.

Nathan Fletcher ,35, was indicted on several charges including reckless conduct with a firearm, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
