HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – A food bank that serves western North Carolina will get help restocking its shelves from Trumbull County.

The Hubbard City Administration Building will be the drop-off point for a Hurricane Helene relief food drive this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., you can donate canned or baby food, diapers, adult incontinence products, bottled water, baby wipes or personal hygiene products.

PI&I Motor Express has donated two trucks and drivers to take the items to the Asheville area, one of the hardest-hit areas of Hurricane Helene.

The group effort is led by the Hubbard Hello Brothers Club.

“We’re constantly looking for some place to help out at.” said Ray Watkins, speaking for the club.

“And the whole section of North Carolina that was completely destroyed. It’s a really nice thing for us to bring our resources together to help make a positive impact,” said Mayor Ben Kyle.

There will also be a collection before Hubbard’s game Friday versus South Range. Any donations of money will buy any items they’re short on.
