    Incumbent victories and newcomers win in Primary

    Yadkin County Commissioners Kevin Austin and David Moxley both have come out of the primary election victorious. Austin had 3,827 votes and Moxley 4,599. Also claiming a spot on the November ballot for Yadkin County Commissioner was Tim Parks. Parks received the highest number of votes in the Republican primary with 5,163 votes. All three candidates will be on the ballot in November for the three open seats on the county board.

    In the Yadkin School Board election, incumbent Sharon Yale will reclaim her seat. She had 4,324 votes. Newcomers Kenny Gooden (5,201 votes), Sarah Gough Boles (4,507 votes), and Cody Spicer (4,455 votes) claimed victory in the Board of Education election. The four candidates will take office this summer ahead of the start of the 2024-2025 school year.

    Of the 24,951 registered voters in Yadkin County, 8,929 voted in the 2024 Primary.
