After working several locations in the East Bend area, investigations by the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office ACE Team on April 11 have lead to three total arrests, the seizure of methamphetamine, and the recovery of a stolen firearm.

In the first investigation, Darrel Wayne Pinnix, age 38 of East Bend, was located during a warrant service and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was on supervised probation in Yadkin County at the time for breaking and entering and larceny.

Darrell Wayne Pinnix was arrested and charged with the following:

    • 2 felony counts of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

    • 1 misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Pinnix also received two probation violation charges stemming from this matter. He received a combined secured bond of $45,000 and is scheduled to appear in Yadkin County court on April 17.

In the second investigation, ACE Team detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an expired registration after it was observed leaving the same area of East Bend.

Tony Craig Miller, age 40 of Yadkinville, was identified as the driver of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted; methamphetamine and a concealed Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm handgun were located.

The handgun was found to have been entered as stolen in NCIC (from a vehicle breaking and entering at Austin Electric Enclosures on Hoots Road, on Oct. 19, 2023).

The recovery of this firearm provided detectives information which lead to the identification of the subject who stole the firearm as Kyle Robert Holden, age 36 of Yadkinville.

Authorities said that Holden has an extensive criminal history involving breaking and enterings and larcenies in Yadkin County. He was on supervised probation in Yadkin County for possession of methamphetamine at the time he was identified as the suspect/offender. That was the ninth such instance of him being placed on probation in North Carolina, for multiple misdemeanor and felony offenses, since August of 2004; seven of those terms were terminated early or revoked due to violations and/or new criminal charges.

Holden was located at his residence and arrested with assistance of Yadkin County probation and parole officers on April 12.

Tony Craig Miller was arrested and charged with the following:

    • 1 felony count of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

    • 1 felony count of Possession of a Stolen Firearm

    • 1 felony count of Maintaining a Vehicle for the Use of Controlled Substances

    • 1 misdemeanor count of Carrying a Concealed Handgun

    • 1 misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

    • 1 misdemeanor count of Driving While License Revoked

Miller received a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Yadkin County court on April 17.

Kyle Robert Holden was arrested and charged with the following:

    • 1 felony count of Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle

    • 1 felony count of Larceny of a Firearm

    • 1 felony count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Holden received a $15,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Yadkin County Court on April 17. He also received probation violations related to this matter and an additional $10,000 cash bond was added for those charges.
