Sheriff's Office requests pay increase in 2025 budget
A second public hearing regarding the Yadkin County 2025 fiscal year budget was held Monday. At the June 13 public hearing 19 people spoke in favor of a significant pay increase for employees requested by the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office. An additional nine people spoke during Monday’s public hearing. Yadkin County Retired School Personnel announce scholarship winners
The Yadkin County Retired School Personnel gives the Fred C. Hobson Scholarship each year to a senior planning to major in Education at Forbush High School and Starmount High School. The amount of the scholarship this year is $1,000. The scholarship is named after a former longtime superintendent who served as the Yadkin County Schools superintendent from 1939 to 1971. The Starmount Rams and Forbush Falcons are set to start the coming school year with brand-new turf football fields and collegiate-grade tracks. Home Builders announce scholarship winners
NORTH WILKESBORO — Three outstanding area young men have been selected to receive 2024 awards from the Joe Faw Scholarship Fund administered by the Wilkes-Yadkin Home Builders Association.
