Next month the town of Yadkinville will host its first “Fill the Basket EasterFest” and community food drive. The event will take place on March 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Yadkinville Community Park.

There will be egg hunts with special prizes, fun games, a book giveaway, and a petting zoo with pony rides. There will also be food trucks on site.

The first egg hunt begins at 11:15. Guests can take photos with the Easter Bunny, play games, and learn about the animals at the petting zoo while awaiting the second egg hunt at 12:15. The petting zoo is being provided by Haystack Homestead, which is an animal rescue farm.

“As you fill your own Easter basket, you’ll also have the chance to fight hunger in our community. For each food item you choose to bring, you’ll receive an entry for a prize drawing. Food collected will be donated to Yadkin Christian Ministries,” organizers said.
