State Fire Mobilization Authorized for the Thorp Road Fire
MOXEE- State fire assistance has been mobilized under the Washington State Fire Services Resource Mobilization Plan in support of local firefighters working to contain the Thorp Road Fire located in Yakima County, near the city of Union Gap. Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste authorized the mobilization of state firefighting resources on July 5, 2024, at 7:00 a.m. at the request of Deputy Fire Chief Ray Lamoureux, Yakima County Fire District 4.

Yakima County Sheriff's Office investigating deadly shooting south of Grandview
GRANDVIEW, Wash. - The Yakima County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting from Wed., July 3 south of Grandview and east of Mabton, according to a press release. The release says at around 2:25 a.m., a woman called 911 reporting that her dad had been shot in the area of South Euclid Road and Bridgeview Road after an alleged fight between him and her ex-boyfriend.
