A man absconded from the law following the 2016 murder of a Washington woman has been found in Mexico. Victor Melcher-Villalba, who also has been known to go by the name Victor Bello Rojas, was discovered in July 2022 by a component of the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office as having been incarcerated in a Durango, Mexico, jail on unrelated charges. 55-year-old Amity man dies in single vehicle crash
A 55-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash in near Amity early Monday, according to the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office said. A preliminary investigation determined Richard Howard of Amity was not wearing a seatbelt when he drove a 2007 Hyundai SUV off the roadway in the 6800 block of SE Eola Hills Road at about 2 a.m. and struck a tree, the sheriff's office said.
