35th anniversary of Flight 232 crash marked
Sioux City, Iowa-Friday, July 19th, was the 35th anniversary of the crash of United Flight 232 at the Sioux Gateway Airport. The Mid American Museum of Aviation and Transportation held an open house to remember the 112 who died in the crash, the 180 who survived, and the first responders and community members who aided them. Museum board member Pam Mickelson said the open house began at 10 a.m. and had activities throughout the day.
Fog Alert: Southeastern South Dakota Issued Dense Fog Advisory
Sioux Falls, SD – A dense fog advisory has been issued for Sioux Falls and surrounding areas. According to the US National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, the advisory predicts visibility as low as 1/4 mile. The advisory affects parts of southeastern South Dakota and extends into neighboring areas.

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — Sturgis’ Arina Haugen captured the All-Around Rookie Cowgirl honors at this year’s National High School Finals Rodeo. Haugen qualified for the finals in three different events, breakaway roping, pole bending and barrel racing. She finished with 840 total points, finishing 350 points ahead of second place Kinley Follman (North Dakota). Haugen finished fourth in the All-Around Cowgirl standings.
