BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota’s team tied for second place for the sweepstakes award at the 2024 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships. Thirty-five youth representing South Dakota State University Extension 4-H competed at the national championships from June 24-28 in Grand Island, Nebraska. Cold Air Funnel Spotted Over Norfolk Saturday Afternoon
As heavy rains poured down over Norfolk late this afternoon, a cold air funnel cloud was spotted by the public over Norfolk just after 5pm. Regional Emergency Manager Bobbi Risor says the National Weather Service was aware of the cloud. While any funnel cloud is a concern, the weather service did not deem it a threat to public safety, and no warnings were issued.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Spotty showers and some patchy drizzle continued across the area this afternoon, though rainfall has remained light and most areas have stayed dry. A few scattered storms popped up near Norfolk and Columbus with some heavier downpours. Those storms will drift to the south and west, staying well to the west of the Omaha metro. The downpours may continue through 7pm or so around Norfolk and Columbus. Otherwise, calm winds with temperatures in the low 70s and upper 60s will stick around for the evening hours.
