ThorSport Racing tops Truck Series practice at Richmond

So far in Richmond, Virginia, ThorSport Racing is the class of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field.

After a 20-minute practice session on Saturday afternoon, defending Truck Series champion Ben Rhodes topped the speed chart, with teammates Ty Majeski and Jake Garcia placing second and third, respectively.

Three-time Truck Series champion Matt Crafton, who also drives for ThorSport, was 13th fastest in Saturday's session.

Grant Enfinger and regular-season points leader Christian Eckes rounded out the top five, with Stewart Friesen and Tyler Ankrum being sixth and seventh fastest, respectively. Taylor Gray, Ty Dillon and Daniel Dye rounded out the top 10.

Other notable results from Saturday's practice session include Tanner Gray in 11th, Layne Riggs in 12th, Chase Purdy in 16th, Corey Heim in 23rd and Connor Zilisch in 31st.

Qualifying is next for the Truck Series and will air on FS1. The Truck Series will race for the 16th time in 2024 on Saturday evening, with the Clean Harbors 250 going green shortly after 7:30 p.m. ET. Coverage will be provided on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

The short-track showdown at Richmond will serve as the Truck Series regular-season finale. Eckes currently leads Heim by 50 points for the regular-season championship, with Tanner Gray holding the 10th and final provisional playoff berth by five points over Daniel Dye.

After Saturday's race at Richmond concludes, the 2024 Truck Series playoff field will be set.
