Mallory Swanson (L) of USA celebrates with teammates after scoring against Brazil during the women's gold medal match between Brazil and USA during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

The penultimate day of competition in Paris delivered gold medal drama. Here's the latest from Saturday's action.

All eyes were on Stade de France for the final track and field events of the Games. Team USA pulled off double gold in the 4x400m relays . And American Masai Russell won gold in the women's 100-meter hurdles in her Olympic debut, just crossing the finish ahead of France's Cyrena Samba-Mayela by .01 seconds.

News broke Saturday that U.S. gymnast Jordan Chiles may have her floor exercise bronze medal stripped over a technicality. A court ruled her coach filed a score appeal too late and therefore her original score must stand, putting her in fifth place in the official standings.

The men's breaking event wrapped up the sport's debut Saturday with Canada's Phil Wizard taking the first gold in the event ever . B-boy Victor earned the bronze for Team USA, the first American to ever win a breaking medal.

The president of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, announced Saturday he will be stepping down when his term ends next year. An election will be held in March 2025 to replace Bach who will have held the position for 12 years.

Three big things about Team USA

    1. Women's soccer wins fifth gold, first since 2012

It was a tight match throughout but Team USA found a way to strike gold for the first time since the London Games on Saturday, defeating Brazil 1-0 in the women's final. Mallory Swanson scored a 57th-minute breakthrough goal, her fourth of the tournament, and that was enough for the U.S. to hold on for the undefeated Olympic run.

    2. Men's basketball wins fifth straight gold

The French put up quite a fight in a deafening Bercy Arena on Saturday, but LeBron James and company were just too much, completing an undefeated Olympic run with a gold medal-clinching 98-87 victory . Stephen Curry led the team with 24 points, looking like a cheat code in the fourth quarter — at one point hitting four straight three-pointers to ice the game.

    3. Brooke Raboutou becomes first U.S. female to win sport climbing medal

American Brooke Raboutou won silver in sport climbing boulder Saturday. She became the first U.S. female to win a medal in what was the sport's second Olympic appearance.

    You won't believe this

China completed a historic sweep of all eight diving events at the Paris Games on Saturday, becoming the first nation to win every gold in a sport at a single Olympics.
