New England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

The NFL preseason rolls on Thursday night with one matchup between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles. It may not be the Super Bowl, but when football is on our screens you know we have to get some action down.

Let's put together a mini same-game parlay to sweat for Patriots-Eagles.

    Crafting a Same-Game Parlay for Pats-Eagles

Leg 1: Patriots first half -1.5

The Patriots have a ton of kinks to work out before the regular season begins, so they're much more likely to play their starters in this matchup. Jacoby Brissett is expected to start under center, and first-round pick Drake Maye should relieve him to finish the first half. New England needs to see some signs of life from the offense, especially early on in the game.

On the other side, the Eagles seem content with their starting offense. Jalen Hurts and the starters didn't play at all last preseason, and they sat against the Baltimore Ravens last week. This should be no different.

    Leg 2: Under 35.5

We're not sure where points are going to come from between these two teams. Even if the Patriots play their starters in the first half, they don't have the explosive weapons to take the top off the defense. New England's offensive line is also one of the worst in the NFL in terms of both top-end talent and depth. As for the Eagles, Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee combined to throw for just 128 yards on 38 pass attempts against the Ravens. They don't have much wide receiver depth behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, who likely won't suit up on Thursday night.

Both defenses are deep with young talent, and they should have the advantage against this uninspiring stable of quarterbacks.

Leg 3: Eagles team total under 17.5

Adding to what we expect should be a low-scoring game, the Eagles had trouble moving the ball effectively against the Ravens. Philadelphia gained more than 10 yards only once in 78 offensive plays, as Pickett and McKee opted for short passes and checkdowns all game.

These backup wide receivers and running backs aren't very talented by NFL standards. The Eagles only reached 16 points last week thanks to a fluke fumble at the end of the game, so going over 17 seems like a tall task.

    In the news ...

USMNT hiring Mauricio Pochettino as next head coach — The United States Men's National Team has its new leader after parting ways with Gregg Berhalter this summer. On Thursday, Pochettino agreed to become the new U.S. head coach . Pochettino has served as the head coach of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham in the past. The 52-year-old will take over for the USMNT's game against Canada on Sept. 7. The USA is +3000 to win the 2026 World Cup on home soil.

Patriots trade Matthew Judon to the Falcons — The New England Patriots aren't in a position to dish out a fat contract to a 32-year-old defensive end, so they traded Judon to the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday for the 2025 third-round pick . Judon appeared in only four games last year, but he did notch a career-high 15.5 sacks in 2022. With some much-needed pass-rush help on the way, the Falcons are now -130 favorites to win the NFC South.

Aaron Judge becomes the fastest player ever to reach 300 home runs — Judge added another bullet point to his historic resume on Wednesday night, crushing his 43rd home run of the season to reach 300 in his career . By doing so in 955 games, the New York Yankees slugger became the fastest player in MLB history to reach 300 homers. Judge is now a massive -1400 favorite to win AL MVP.
