Bills QB Josh Allen describes 'vivid' Super Bowl dreams

The Bills have never gotten past the conference championship with quarterback Josh Allen. That hasn't stopped him from routinely thinking about Buffalo hosting a Super Bowl victory parade, perhaps as soon as February 2025.

"Oh my God," Allen said during a recent appearance on the "Green Light with Chris Long" podcast, as Ryan Canfield of Fox News Digital shared. "I joke about it a lot with guys on the team , what the city would look like after the parade. I have vivid dreams about it. Every square inch of downtown Buffalo being just absolutely packed with people. People ride the bus. I don’t know if I would ride the bus. I would just walk."

Allen may not be that far off regar ding his "every square inch" prediction.

For years, outlets such as ESPN have mentioned that "approximately 1.3 million" fans gathered in downtown Cleveland in July 2016 to celebrate the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers ending the city's 52-year title drought. To compare, neither of Buffalo's two active top-tier sports teams has ever accomplished such an achievement (pre-AFL–NFL merger).

The Bills famously made four straight trips to Super Bowl contests in the opening half of the 1990s but lost each matchup. Buffalo hasn't returned since the franchise's defeat in Super Bowl XXVIII in January 1994. That reality is one reason Allen understands a championship parade would be an event unlike any the city has ever experienced.

"It’s like that scene in ['Spider-Man 2'] … Where’s he got the train, he’s holding the train, and all of the sudden he falls forward and they grab him and just kind of lift him on back," Allen continued. "I feel like that would be a lot of players, just crowd surfing."

As of Thursday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook listed the Bills tied for sixth among the betting favorites at +1500 odds to win Super Bowl LIX. Such forecasts may not fill Buffalo fans with confidence heading into the Labor Day holiday. Still, it sounds like Allen is doing anything possible to manifest getting his hands on the Vince Lombardi Trophy into existence.
