    Joaquin Niemann.

The 2024 LIV Golf season continues this week with its 12th tournament of the year at The Old White course at The Greenbrier. We saw this golf course last season when Bryson DeChambeau shot a scorching 61-58 on the weekend to win by six.

With rain in the forecast this week, a soft Old White won't be able to stop these players from going low again. Let's target a pair of talented birdie-makers with our outright picks for LIV Golf Greenbrier.

    Joaquin Niemann (+800 FanDuel )

Niemann is going to be a popular pick this week, and it's easy to see why. The Chilean scored his first PGA Tour victory at this golf course in 2019, firing 65-62-68-64 to win by six shots. He gained 8.44 true strokes from putting that week, which was the best mark he ever had in a single tournament on the PGA Tour. He also gained 3.2 true strokes from putting at The Old White in 2018 when he finished in a tie for fifth.

That's important because Niemann is a brilliant ball striker who consistently struggles on the greens. He ranks fourth on LIV this season in greens in regulation percentage and second in driving distance. Niemann is going to attack this golf course with his driver and irons, and we know he loves putting on these surfaces. Most importantly, Niemann leads LIV Golf in total birdies this season, and you need to make a ton of them to win this week.

Coming off a T9 finish at the Paris Olympics, Niemann is in a great spot to win at The Greenbrier.

    David Puig (+3300 FD )

Speaking of players who can rack up birdies in a hurry, Puig can absolutely win this golf tournament. The 22-year-old ranks 10th on LIV this season in total birdies and seventh in driving distance, so it's no surprise his best finish on the rival tour came at The Old White last year when he shot 63-65-65 to notch a T3.

Puig can get in trouble off the tee because he's more worried about distance than accuracy, but DeChambeau showed us that strategy is perfect for The Old White. This golf course features wide fairways and little trouble off the tee, so Puig will be able to let it rip and set up shorter iron shots to these soft greens.
