    Tony Khan.

AEW has been negotiating with Warner Bros. Discovery over a new TV rights deal for months . Tony Khan's company has rapidly grown from an upstart promotion to the second-largest wrestling company in the world. As such, any new deal will likely dwarf its predecessor and secure AEW's long-term future.

Khan's company has experienced a stop-start year. An influx of fresh talent in the opening months of 2024 created a feel-good factor among fans. However, poor booking, questionable storyline decisions and a perceived lack of direction have all hindered AEW's continued growth. In fact, the company has seen drastic declines in attendance and viewership.

Fortunately for AEW, its fortunes may be close to turning around. According to Fightful Select , Warner Bros. Discovery has tabled an "extensive" offer to Khan.

"WBD sources confirmed there was still some red tape to get through, but that another offer for a long-term television deal was made recently to All Elite Wrestling from the company that they’re very confident in," Fightful Select reported. "One WBD source called the offer “extensive,” but didn’t elaborate on what that, meant outside of saying the terms of the deal were “literally extensive,” but that the offer is in AEW’s hands and that they’re reviewing it."

A new deal is precisely what AEW needs. Not only would the influx of a higher cash flow help keep the company afloat, but it would also free up some bandwidth for the company to begin game planning on how to get its product back on track. Performing in front of half-full stadiums every week isn't a good look, especially when those shows are televised worldwide.

WWE's impending move to Netflix could also provide additional growth opportunities for AEW, as most of its competition would be removed from television. The deal could benefit both parties if Warner Bros. can agree to terms with Khan in the coming weeks. AEW needs a win and some good news to start rebuilding momentum, and a new TV deal could be the perfect catalyst to kick start its recently stagnant growth.
