    Darby Allin.

Darby Allin joined AEW on April 12, 2019, just four months after Tony Khan had launched the company. He is considered one of the "four pillars," along with MJF, Sammy Guevara and Jack Perry, who are young, highly talented wrestlers building their names with the promotion.

While MJF is undoubtedly the most successful of those four pillars, Allin isn't far behind. He's a two-time TNT champion, a one-time Tag Team champion and has won the Royal Rampage twice. According to Dave Meltzer, writing in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW's creative team is considering giving Allin a run at the World Championship. The move would likely continue to develop his character and help him grow in prominence.

“We’ve heard talk of Allin getting a run as champion no matter who wins [between Strickland and Danielson],” Meltzer wrote. “We know that’s been talked about seriously, but as to when, that’s less clear.”

The match between Swerve Strickland and Bryan Danielson, which Meltzer is referring to, is set to take place at All-In, which is scheduled for Wembley Stadium on Aug. 25. Allin is then expected to face the winner of that battle at Dynamite Grand Slam in September.

However, Allin has his own championship match to worry about at All-In. He's scheduled to face Jack Perry in a coffin match for the TNT title. Allin would be a three-time champion if he could overcome the "Scapegoat."

Regardless of whether Allin gets a championship run in the immediate future or is forced to wait for his moment to shine, it's clear that he's ascending within the company. Allin has been a reliable member of AEW's roster since the company's early days. He's wildly talented and doesn't fear the big spots or moments in a match.

Sooner or later, he will become the world champion, and when he does, AEW will have another homegrown star to lean on.
