    Will Rogers.

Will Rogers absolutely has some huge shoes to fill at Washington, but reportedly, it's his shot to give it a try.

According to Jordan Schultz, the Huskies are going with Rogers — who played four seasons at Mississippi State before transferring to Washington — as the starting quarterback.

True freshman Demond Williams Jr., the No. 12-ranked quarterback in the 2024 class, is also expected to play this season. Whether that's in garbage time or in an actual role in the offense is still undetermined.

Rogers played in 43 games over four seasons for Mississippi State, totaling 40 starts. He left the program as the all-time leader in passing with 12,315 yards and 94 touchdowns.

At Washington, he's tasked with replacing Michael Penix Jr., who was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. A Heisman candidate for the Huskies who led them to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game against Michigan, Penix threw for 8.572 yards and 62 touchdowns (16 interceptions) in 2022 and 2023 combined.
