    Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, but some of his peers think he gets too much love.

A recent survey from ESPN's NFL Nation asked 103 NFL players to rank quarterbacks in several categories. Allen was voted the most overrated quarterback in the league.

"Too many turnovers," one NFC West player said while voting for Allen. According to ESPN Stats & Info, Allen's 102 turnovers are the most in the league since the start of the 2008 season. In 2023, Allen recorded a career-high 18 interceptions in 17 games.

Some within the league share the same sentiment about Allen. In July, an anonymous NFL executive told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler Allen is "one of the more overrated players in the NFL," pointing out how he makes too many mistakes.

However, since being drafted No. 7 overall in 2018, the two-time Pro Bowler has led the Bills to five playoff appearances, including an AFC Championship Game.

He hasn't benefited from an elite supporting cast, either. Aside from Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs — whom Buffalo traded to Houston in April — no Bills pass-catcher finished with 50-plus receptions or 800-plus receiving yards last season.

On Monday, The Athletic's Mike Sando released his annual QB tiers. The tiers are numbered 1 through 5, with Tier 1 being the best and Tier 5 the worst. A panel of 50 coaches and executives determines the ratings. Allen landed in Tier 1 with Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes and Cincinnati's Joe Burrow.

"For me, Mahomes and Josh Allen are the two guys right now that people are most afraid to play," a head coach told Sando . "They do not go in and say they're as afraid to go play Joe Burrow. Maybe that is just from a playmaking standpoint. I think Joe is great, but [Mahomes and Allen] put their teams on their backs and win."

Allen could be better and must commit fewer turnovers to win his first Super Bowl, but claiming he's overrated seems foolish.
