Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Johnny Cueto.

Ryan Pepiot fought through a rough start to record 18 outs and cash our first Look of the Day this week, bringing our hot streak to 5-1 in our last six picks. Let's keep it rolling with our favorite MLB play for Tuesday's loaded slate.

Look of the Day: Detroit Tigers team total over 3.5 first 7 innings (-130 DraftKings )

Angels at Tigers, 6:40 p.m. ET

The Tigers are taking on the Los Angeles Angels in maybe the least interesting game on the Tuesday night slate, but that doesn't mean we can't make money off it. We're looking to back Detroit's offense in what sets up to be a great matchup for these hitters.

Johnny Cueto, after spending much of the season in the minor leagues, joined the Angels' big-league squad last week and gave up eight hits and three earned runs in 6.1 innings of work against the Kansas City Royals. That's not great, but those numbers don't illustrate how bad he truly was.

Cueto gave up a 60.0 percent hard-hit rate, a 12.0 percent barrel rate and a 95.5-mph average exit velocity in the outing. That translated to a .420 xBA and a 12.78 xERA due to how hard and how often the Royals hit his pitches. Cueto also recorded just a 7.9 percent whiff rate and a 15.4 percent chase rate, so his stuff isn't fooling anyone.

As for the Tigers, this offense has been on fire of late. Detroit is averaging 7.2 runs over its last five games. Over that span, the Tigers rank fourth in batting average (.299), OPS (.881) and wRC+ (150) against right-handed pitching. They also have the lowest soft-hit rate against righties in the league since then (9.2 percent).

This lineup is swinging the bat well and making hard contact from top to bottom, and Cueto is the exact type of pitcher it can jump on.
