Browns quarterback Jameis Winston (5) participates in quarterback drills with Tyler Huntley during minicamp, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in Berea.

With the top of the Cleveland Browns depth chart sorted out at quarterback, the team will take calls from multiple teams regarding its third- and fourth-string QBs, per Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com .

Deshaun Watson is penciled in as Cleveland’s Week 1 starter, with second-year signal-caller Dorian Thompson-Robinson listed as his backup. (Thompson-Robinson was informed on Tuesday he had made the team, per Cabot.) Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley have seemingly become hot commodities for teams looking to shore up their QB2 spots.

The Browns could trade one of the two, but it’s unlikely both are jettisoned. Watson was held out of all three of the team’s preseason games, and he missed a good deal of training camp while experiencing “general arm soreness.”

Watson’s health has been an issue over the last 12 months as he missed 11 games last season after suffering a torn rotator cuff in Week 3 before a shoulder scapula fracture in Week 9 knocked him out for the rest of the year.

The Browns ran through four QBs once Watson went down, with Thompson-Robinson, Joe Flacco, P.J. Walker and Jeff Driskel all playing at various points in the year. Flacco performed the best of the group, throwing for 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions, including five straight 300-yard games counting the playoffs, but he’s since moved on to Indianapolis.

Many projected Winston to be the No. 2 guy in Cleveland based on his usage in the preseason — he played the fewest snaps of the three — but it’s likely he could have the highest trade value of the group, and the Browns want to explore their options in getting an asset back for him.
