    Johnny Manziel.

Former legendary Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel revealed on Thursday that he will be joining ESPN's "College GameDay" on Saturday as the show's celebrity guest picker before his former school hosts Notre Dame in a primetime Week 1 battle.

Manziel had the following to say in the clip from above.

"What's up guys, Johnny Manziel here. As you guys know, college football season is right around the corner, and with that, 'GameDay' is coming to College Station, Texas, and I'm very excited to announce that I will be the celebrity guest picker on Saturday at [9 a.m.] eastern time.

"Aggieland, we need you guys loud and crazy as we have Notre Dame coming to town. Really looking forward to it. Checking something off the bucket list this week. Can't wait. Gig 'em."

Saturday's matchup between the Aggies and the Fighting Irish will be just the sixth meeting between the two schools since 1987 . Only one of the previous five games took place inside Texas A&M's home stadium, and it happened in 2001 when the Aggies were able to come out on top with a 24-3 win over Notre Dame.

Saturday night's matchup has the potential to be a Week 1 classic, as both teams are currently ranked in the AP Top 25 (Texas A&M is No. 20 and Notre Dame is No. 7). Last season, the Aggies finished unranked with a disappointing 7-6 record while the Fighting Irish ended their 2023 campaign ranked 14th in the AP Top 25 with a 10-3 record.

As for Manziel, he's continuing to re-enter the public eye within the last year after multiple attempts at becoming a professional football player came up short.

Manziel's journey in life was covered in a Netflix documentary last year. He had an extensive sit-down interview with Shannon Sharpe on the popular "Club Shay Shay" podcast last February . And, most recently, it was revealed that the former Texas A&M quarterback will be discussing and analyzing college football each week this season as part of the Action Network's "Big Bets On Campus" podcast.

Safe to say, Saturday is just going to be the start of a 2024 college football season full of takes and thoughts from Manziel.
