Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Deion Burks (6) reacts after scoring during the first quarter against the Temple Owls at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

It didn't take long for wideout Deion Burks to make his presence known in an Oklahoma uniform.

In his Sooners debut, Burks recorded four receptions for 30 yards while making three trips to the endzone by halftime of Friday's opener against Temple. According to Cliff Brunt of the Associated Press , his three-touchdown performance is tied for the most in a single half by a player in program history.

Burks' first score came early in the opening half. With 8:07 remaining, he hauled in a 14-yard touchdown from quarterback Jackson Arnold after breaking loose up the middle of a play-action fake.

Over the final 5:28 of the second quarter, Burks would go on to score twice more.

First, Arnold would connect with Burks again on a designed roll-out to the right for an eight-yard score.

Then, with 36 ticks remaining before the break, Burks hauled in a five-yard fade from Arnold in the back of the endzone.

Transferring to Oklahoma after three seasons at Purdue, Burks is already proving his worth. In 30 games with the Boilermakers, he tallied 63 receptions for 804 yards while adding seven receiving touchdowns, a number he's already halfway to equaling after just one half of football.
