    Shad Khan.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to begin a 2024 campaign with expectations higher than they've possibly ever been for the franchise. Although they're second in odds behind the Houston Texans to win the AFC South, the Jaguars have talent across the roster. They are in prime position to return to the playoffs after narrowly falling short last season, and owner Shad Khan made that fact abundantly clear with his recent comments.

During a clip of The Hunt , a series posted on the team's official website, Khan doubled down on a previous statement about the expectation for the Jaguars to win now.

    Via NFL.com :

"About a month ago we celebrated the city's partnership with the Jaguars and the approval of funding for the new stadium of the future," Khan began. "So, I met with the reporters and the discussion obviously quickly turned to football and I was quoted, 'For us, winning now is the expectation.' So really I (have) been looking forward to tonight to set the record straight. I was not misquoted. And let me just repeat, winning now is the expectation."

It's a strong statement, but one that's also fair and understandable. The Jaguars not only made the playoffs two years ago, but rallied to defeat the Los Angeles Chargers in an impressive comeback victory before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs 27-20.

The franchise also found itself in an excellent position to win the AFC South title last season, but dropped five of the final six games to miss the playoffs. Khan expects the team to bounce back, and while the Texans, along with two on-the-rise franchises in the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, are all improved, Jacksonville has the potential to return to postseason play in 2024.
